Inspired by the big band swing era, these guys are always happy making music! In an abstract kind of way, the black colour of the men denotes the black music notes, in other words, the notes are the music. I like to imagine Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble or similar kind of voice singing….and feelin’ good!

I love the big band era. When I’m feeling down and need a pick me up, I put on Frank Sinatra or Nat King Cole and literally a smile streaks across my face. That is precisely why I am extremely excited to see this painting as it reminds of that moment of time where I transcend from stressed to happy go lucky. Thanks for this.

    Hi there,
Thanks for the positive comments. You get the feeling I was trying to capture. Those old songs usually get people’s feet tapping and yes, a smile across their face. Have a wonderful day! Monika
